Wacom

Wacom LogoWACOM's product range is based on its patented electromagnetic technology which is the key to cordless, battery-less and pressure sensitive computer input devices. Since it was founded in 1983, WACOM has established itself as a leader in the world market for graphics tablets and a pioneer in the development of the pen as a computer input device. Historically, the pen and paintbrush have been among the most familiar tools used by man as a means of communication and expression - it is therefore quite nautural that in the age of computers, the pen should be rediscovered.

Intuos TabletsIntuos graphics tablets -  PDF File available

Intuos is the modular graphics tablet system for all branches and professions where digital contents are processed. Intuos is a completely open and flexible system. You can be sure that you'll find the correct combination of tablet and input device - for your own way of being creative, productive and successful with Intuos.

  • Menu strips
Each tablet features fully programmable 'soft' buttons on menu strips. What's more, the menu strips can be interchanged between tablets from A5 upwards.
  • "Curves" are in
The ergonomically contoured edges of the tablet make for a very comfortable hand position and reduce finger fatigue.
  • Overlay sheet
Thanks to the pressure-sensitive tips of the Intuos pens and the special material used in the innovative transparent overlays (particularly useful for digitising original documents), you'll feel like you're using real paper.
  • QuickPoint Area
On Intuos A4 tablets and larger, you can use part of the tablet as a 'QuickPoint Area'. This reduced-size area is ideal for ergonomic and ultra-fast navigation on screen. The QuickPoint Area and large drawing area can be used in parallel, with no loss of functionality in either case.
  • Perfect symmetry
Intuos has been designed with both left and right-handed use in mind - you'll see, for example, that the hand rests are the same size on both sides.
  • Everything's under Control
A prime example of attention to detail, the Intuos pen holder can be attached to Intuos A5 tablets and upwards and moved freely on the top edge to accommodate left- or right-handed use. On Intuos A4 and above there's room for three input pens.
  • Intuos tools can be used up to 10mm from the tablet.
  • Pinpoint positioning - 1:1 scaling of tablet area to screen area. Say goodbye to mouse pads that are too small and disappearing screen cursors, no need to place in position again after release.
  • Tool ID - every input device is unique and recognised by the tablet as such
  • DualTrack - work two-handed e.g. with an Intuos pen and the Intuos 4D mouse
  • Cordless, battery-free - and with optimum balance of weight
  • Ultra-high pressure sensitivity with 1024 levels

What we're about . . .      ZEN is not a traditional Audio-Visual dealer who started selling computers, nor is it a computer shop that also sells video editing systems. You won't get any salesmen giving you the "hard-sell" when you call, just straightforward advice and information - which for some callers is the knowledge that they don't need to buy whatever it is they thought they needed! Above all you'll be dealing with someone with a wide range of experience and knowledge of both PCs and video production. We're not the biggest, nor necessarily the cheapest, but we are one of the longest established computer/video specialists in the UK.

Company history . . .      ZEN was started in the 1980s by Martin Kay, then working for ITV at Granada's Manchester studios, who built his first 6502-based computer in 1979 from an Ohio Scientific kit, bought in the USA whilst working as a Sound Recordist on a film shoot for World In Action. With the advent of the Amiga, which could be gen-locked to a video source, Martin started writing a variety of video-related software. This included subtitling & tele-prompting, ident clocks, scoring software for sports & gameshows, and specialist software to mimic other computer displays for use in TV film dramas like Cracker, Prime Suspect and A Touch of Frost. Martin left Granada in 1993 to concentrate on his computer-video activities with ZEN, following a natural path into non-linear editing systems, now the main focus of the business, although he still maintains an active interest in video production.
