HUGE Systems disk storage

Huge Systems was founded in 2000 by Michael H. Anderson and Tina Bow. Their focus is the design, manufacture and support of superior data storage technology for media content delivery and creation. After launching at NAB 2001, their products have since been qualified by vendors like Pinnacle & Matrox, and have sold to thousands of satisfied customers all over the world. In January 2005 the company agreed to be acquired by Ciprico Inc., a leading provider of storage solutions for the broadcast and rich media marketplaces.

Media Vault U320 series

The next-generation MediaVault U320-series RAID storage units feature an Ultra 320 SCSI controller and interface capable of sustaining over 200+ Megabytes a second - more than enough to support the most demanding HD applications. One 5-drive MediaVault U320-S and each channel of the U320-S Dual or RX can support 10-bit HD video!

They can be configured in RAID 0 (performance) or RAID 3 (protected) operation. When in RAID 3 mode, one drive is used for "parity" information, so performance and capacities are diminished about 20%. In RAID 3 mode if a drive fails your footage will still be there - and you can continue working with no degradation in performance.
