Uncompressed / compressed video + stereo
audio
VelocityQ 2x4 combines the Quattrus multi-layer real-time non-linear editing hardware with an extended version of the award-winning Velocity software, into a fully-integrated advanced multi-layer NLE solution. Features include real-time simultaneous playback of four video streams (in any combination of uncompressed or compressed video), six graphics layers, and two channels of real-time 3D DVE, including perspectives and warps. VelocityQ 2x4 includes also all of the features of the Velocity 8.2 dual-stream NLE and extends them with new features including two channels of simultaneous real-time 3D DVE, and enhanced support for network editing, with video media accessible from system or network storage as well as the included dedicated on-board Ultra160 storage controller. The 0x4 version is without the DVE module, and is intended as a replacement for the Reality, which is being phased out when existing stocks run out.
Technology
Built on the hardware expertise that won an Emmy® Award in 2000
for Outstanding Achievement in Television Technology, VelocityQ is powered by the
Quattrus hardware platform. Building on the features of the acclaimed Reality
hardware, Quattrus features real-time playback of four video streams (in any
combination of uncompressed or compressed video), six graphics streams
(with crawls & rolls), and two channels of simultaneous real-time 3D DVE effects. Amazingly compact, the Quattrus hardware combines all of this real time power with flexible professional video
I/O (including composite, Y/C, component, and optional DV and SDI), video mixing and
keying, multi-channel audio mixing, video alpha channel support, and an integrated
Ultra160 SCSI-3 disk controller, all on a single 32/64bit PCI card that requires just one system IRQ.
VTFS
The flexible DPS Virtual Tape File System provides seamless and transparent integration and file interchange with other graphics, animation and compositing systems. Each frame of video is simultaneously available in ten popular image file formats, including TGA, BMP and TIF. Animation sequences can be rendered directly to the VTFS, then easily accessed for playback and editing.
Precision Quality Control
VelocityQ
features uncompressed and variable compression playback and recording for perfect quality
every time, with the flexibility to mix compressed and uncompressed footage in the same
timeline. Proc-amp controls, colour correction, and an integrated waveform monitor and vectorscope help keep your video levels within spec and allow you to easily fine tune both
incoming and captured video.
Added value software package
VelocityQ include a comprehensive software bundle. Velocity 8.2 integrated non-linear editor, Eyeon DFX+ advanced compositing & image processing with direct timeline integration, Sonic Solutions' ReelDVD Studio - DVD authoring software, Inscriber Title Motion character generator and Sonic Foundry's Sound Forge Studio XL digital audio editor.
