Product overview

Bluefish444 products can be split into two groups, SD and HD. There are both PCI-Express and PCI-X SD cards, but the HD cards are PCI-X.

SD products are standard-definition only and HD products are high-definition only. However, we understand that testing is currently underway to prove the viability of having both an SD and an HD card in a single PC.

Down-converted SD monitoring is available from the HD cards.

The Single Link HD|Fury is the card of choice for HD/SD editing with 2K frame format support, with up and down conversion monitoring, 8 channels of digital audio, the HD|Fury provides video output preview for Adobe After Effects, Eyeon Digital Fusion, and Autodesk Combustion.

The SD|Greed certainly lives up to its name with the largest number of SD SDI and Analog Audio and Video I/O connections of any card available. With in-built A/D and D/A signal conversion the Dual and Single Link uncompressed 10/12-bit SD|Greed has any demand a SD workspace can throw at it well and truly covered.

The SD|Prime is a 1-lane PCI Express card providog Single Link SD SDI Video I/O and Digital Audio I/O via SDI or optional external BNC or XLR cables.

blueThing and redThing are compact multi-standard SD/HD-SDI to DVI-I video converters for feeding projectors & LCD/plasma monitors.
They include high quality spatial and temporal video processing for frame rate conversion, scaling & de-interlacing. Aspect ratio is preserved by detecting anamorphic inputs and the resolution of the connected display.
Both converters feature front-panel buttons to control an on-screen set-up menu. Plus there's an Ethernet interface so the converter can be remotely configured by use of a web browser.
blueThing also includes AES/S-PDIF digital, analogue, and headphone audio outputs for monitoring or de-embedding.

RAGE N|Code  SD/HD hardware MPEG-2 encoder

In partnership with Aspex Semiconductor, Bluefish444 have combined their highly acclaimed HD|Fury and Symmetry interface with the Accelera 3000 Advanced Video Encoder card to create the RAGE N|Code. Combining uncompressed HD-SDI input/output with hardware HD encoding,

RAGE N|Code accelerates the industry leading MainConcept MPEG-2 codec, providing plug and play acceleration of MPEG-2 encoding inside many popular third party software applications such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Autodesk Cleaner XL ensuring familiarity with the same user interface. Customers don’t have to learn any new workflows or configuration options to take advantage of the higher performance.

For ease of use and full control over encoding, RAGE N|Code comes bundled with Symmetry, Bluefish444’s acquisition, review and encoding management application for Windows XP that includes integrated device control and detailed parameter setting ability.

RAGE N|Code with Symmetry, was designed with simplicity in mind. With its intuitive interface, customers are able to compress video without detailed knowledge of codecs or compression settings. Symmetry provides a plethora of widely used HD/SD MPEG-2 pre-sets that customers can choose to get encoding straight out of the box. You can start creating content immediately for any type of application, including ingest, DVD creation, VOD upload or showing rushes.

For more experienced compressionists, Symmetry also provides the flexibility to create your own customised settings to best suit your needs. In fact RAGE N|Code supports the majority of MPEG-2 profiles, full GOP structure control and the ability to capture I-frame only HD MPEG-2 for editing purposes.
